Trace Fury's female founding duo, Chrissy (vocals, keyboards) and Nina (vocals, keyboards), first met while attending high school in Philadelphia, PA. The two female vocalists shared an important classical musical education, which eventually brought them a dominion of the art of songwriting and composing. Putting together influences coming from a variety of style backgrounds -- from experimental rock to jazz music -- the duo lead the way for Fury's first daring themes. In 2000, and after the additions of Dave (bass), Matt (drums), and Mark (saxophone), the full team began preparing its first melodies with a complete set. Recording a four-track demo tape not long after, Fury also started to play at various clubs, inevitably gaining a respectful following.
