For over a decade, guitarist Erik Larson was a driving force behind stoned rockers Alabama Thunderpussy, but when the band abruptly crumbled to dust in 2007, he finally paused long enough to take stock of his many exploits thus far (a prolific RV also boasting two solo albums and worthy side projects like the Mighty Nimbus, Kilara, Axehandle, and Hail Hornet) before forming a new band with drummer Ryan Wolfe named the Might Could. Based in Richmond, VA, and rounded out by lead guitarist TJ Childers and bassist Rob Gouldman (Larson handled lead vocals), the Might Could quickly hooked up with Small Stone Records and began recording its eponymous debut album for release in early 2011, revisiting most of Larson's classic rock stomping grounds along the way, with added emphasis on sludgy Southern metal.
