Nashville band the Carter Administration is a rock & roll trio formed by drummer Todd Kemp, guitarist Todd Anderson, and bassist Ryan Ervin at a Halloween party in 1998. They recorded three EPs over the next year and a half, and in the fall of 2000 cut their first full-length album, Betty Ford Start Packing, the Carters Are Coming. Anderson left the band in the spring of 2001, and Kemp and Ervin continued on as a duo with Ervin moving to guitar, recording another EP, Two Man Advantage. They then expanded back to a trio, adding Andy Whillhite, formerly of the Obscure, on bass. In 2003, they recorded another three EPs and played out extensively. They cut their second full-length album, Air Guitar Force One, in 2005, and it was released by the local Theory 8 Records label in the fall.
