Calling themselves AB/CD, a pun on the Australian group AC/DC, this Swedish rock group was formed by students Braijan (vocals), Bengus (guitar), Nalcolm (guitar), Clim (bass) and Raijmon Left (drums). They assembled in 1986 for a one-off performance at an end-of-term college party. The resemblance to AC/DC went beyond a similarity in name, extending to a propensity for heavy, goodtime rock. An astute record producer brought them into the studio to record an album that was released on the Doremi label. Although the set was well received and the group was evidently talented, fears of court action by the Australian group scared off prospective overseas offers. Reluctant to perform under any other name and thus ruin the joke, the group disbanded within a year.
