Store Bought Lies originally started as a solo project for guitarist/programmer/screamer Pig Boy as a way to "pick up chicks." Unfortunately, the chicks never came, but he did find an outlet to express his bad days through his own musical creativity. So along with JustinSame (guitar), DJ SuoaSpy (turntables), Asisn Porn Starr (synthesizers), and Anonymous Bassist (bass), Store Bought Lies was created in 1997 out of the normally quite Charleston, SC. Sighting KMFDM, Sister Machine Gun, Pigface, and Nine Inch Nails as major inspiration, Store Bought Lies released their first EP, Good as Dead, in 1999.
