A singer/songwriter with a penchant for stories and a sense of the traditional music of the Appalachians, Scott Christopher Murray is one of the more distinct voices in folk music. Spending years in Nashville developing his songcraft, Murray moved back to his native Virginia and started working on his first album. A contribution to a DVD Records compilation turned heads at the label, so they took a chance and let him record a full album. The result, Short Stories, arrived in 2002.
