The music of the Sakala Brothers has become a staple of Zambian television and radio ads. Their repertoire includes such tunes as the "Angoni Theme Song" and "Puteni Ichimwela," a bittersweet tribute to the Zambian national soccer team. The Sakala Brothers participated in a multinational concert at the Lukesha Playhouse Theater, along with Zambian musician Brian Zanji, Zambian vocal group Amashiwi, and British musicians Nathan Thompson and Sarah Robins. The show, which opened a week-long Zambia-United Kingdom Cooperation celebration, was recorded and released on CD under the title ODI in 1999. Along with Keith Mutale and St. Michael, the Sakala Brothers received a Ngome award from Africa Alive! as "the most socially conscious artist in the fight against AIDS" in December 2000.
