b. 27 February 1953, Casablanca, Morocco. Gomez appears regularly in guitarist magazines the world over - a testament to an enduring talent and virtuoso technique which has seen him play on countless sessions for a myriad of rock, jazz and blues artists. He has thus far released only one solo album, 1980’s Volume for CBS Records. Despite his obvious technical ability and the fluency of his guitar playing, it proved an unhappy transition to self-composition which attracted lukewarm reviews. Since then he has concentrated exclusively on collaborative work. His trio recording with Bill Campbell (drums) and Mike McGuirk in 2002 was much better received.
