Contemporary country singer Pamela Sue Wright was born and raised in northern Kentucky; her father was a singing evangelist, her mother a folksinger. She got her professional start in the late 1980s as a backing vocalist with the rock outfit Beaudry & the Rose, from there joining the country band Copperhead Canyon; upon mounting a solo career, in 1998 Wright signed to the Nashville label Red Sundown to issue her debut LP She Can Run.
