b. Kent Lövgren, Sweden. This rapper began his career as a breakdancer at the age of 12 - proving good enough to be entered in major championship events throughout his native Sweden. He maintained his allegiance to the hip-hop cause thereafter, releasing two moderately successful singles, ‘Feel Your Body Movin’’ and ‘Take Me Away’, in 1992. His breakthrough came the following year with ‘Dum Da Dum’, whose ‘hip-house’ stylings proved popular throughout Europe, especially in Germany where it sold over 200, 000 copies. The follow-up single, ‘I Wanna Dance’, was less strong, but repeated the chart success, and acted as a prelude to a debut album for the Sidelake Virgin label.
