This Swedish merchant pursued his interest in chamber music as he traveled to the port cities of Amsterdam, Viborg, Lisbon and Dublin. He composed a number of instrumental quintets as well as some vocal pieces. De Ron introduced a number of string quartets by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to the public of Lisbon and wrote musical articles for "Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung" on Portugal. His independence is clearly displayed in the experimental methods with which he treated harmony, sonority and rhythms in his compositions.
