Artist Biography by

This obscure Canadian group gained short-lived minor fame when former Kinks’ bass player, Pete Quaife, joined their ranks in 1969. He contributed to Maple Oak’s lone British single, ‘Son Of A Gun’, but although the ensemble completed an album, Quaife abandoned them for a more conventional life as a commercial artist. Although he initially settled in Denmark, Pete later moved to Montreal, where he made an impromptu live appearance with the Kinks when a 80s tour reached the city. Maple Oak dissolved several years beforehand.
