b. 1 January 1892, San Francisco, California, USA, d. 17 April 1955, New York City, New York, USA. Lorraine made her first Broadway appearance in Miss Innocence (1908). Catching the eye, literally and figuratively, of Florenz Ziegfeld, she was in several editions of The Ziegfeld Follies, among them 1909-12 inclusive and again in 1918. Her relationship with Ziegfeld was for a time intimate, something that was by no means unusual where this compulsive womanizer was concerned. Lorraine was also in the musicals and revues Over The River (1912), The Whirl Of The World (1914), The Little Blue Devil (1920), Ziegfeld Girls Of 1920 and The Blue Kitten (1922).
