Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Laura Molinelli was born in Tarrytown, NY, in 1967. Molinelli knew what she wanted to be at a very young age, writing her first song when she was only in the third grade. At 15 she got her first guitar, and with the help of friend, she taught herself to play. Soon she was hooked on making music. She began her musical career in 1991, appearing at local taverns and inns, building a following as she went. Her style of country music is seasoned with both pop and R&B flavors that seem to please country and pop fans alike.
Since her humble beginnings nearly a decade ago, Molinelli has performed with numerous artists, including Cheryl Wheeler, Lucinda Williams, John Gorka, Patty Larkin, and many others. Molinelli has also produced and written two full-length albums in between appearances. Her enjoyable second recording, Stones, was released under the Foolish Records label.
