Comprised of record producer Yakima Lee and music teacher Jeff Kincaid, KriyaShakti are quite an unusual group. Recording bizarre albums that incorporate the loose vibe of free jazz with the sonic brutality of noise rock and electronica, the two musicians originally came together at a performance in 1999, when they shared a stage as KriyaShakti (a Sanskrit word) for the very first time. Strangely enough, they had never played together before, but the magic was there and they instantly began recording small albums for Celestial Light Recordings while heading out to festivals to share their unique vision. Each CD has its own interesting theme that KriyaShakti express through music, and oftentimes the results are equally rewarding and confounding.
