Raised in Ottawa, this innovative musician formed a few groups in high school with longtime friend Justin Haynes while performing at Ottawa's Café Wim. The groups, some of which were dubbed Al and also Jump Kings, honed Jordan O'Connor's musicianship. In the winter of 1998, the musician recorded a full-length album, entitled Theresa, but the project was never officially released. In 2000, he released When We Were Little Girls under his group called Cash Cow. The album was named Jazz Record of the Year for 2000 by many Canadian newspapers. In November 2001, O'Connor released Fragments, Vol. 1 on the Breath Records. He has toured extensively throughout the world supporting Canadian jazz musician Don Ross. He has also performed at numerous jazz festivals in North America as well as the WOMAD Festival. He has also performed with D.D. Jackson and Andy Stochansky, among others.
