Here is one of the younger musicians with this name who has been featured on recordings. Most of the credits for this performer indicate he is a Jon Eaton, not just a common John. One of at least three, sometimes more, guitarists strumming away in the Spinto Band, Eaton hails from a musical family. In this case it is a background that has provided interesting opportunities for the Spinto Band as well as the expected stimulation musical relatives provide for a growing youngster.
Uncle Andy Eaton sang in Sin City, a band from the same area of Pennsylvania. This relationship is one of several overlapping family connections between the latter band and the Spinto Band. But it was another uncle, Nashville songwriter and producer Robin Eaton, whose interest in the group developed into an ongoing series of Music City recording sessions. Singer and guitarist Nick Krill launched the Spinto Band in honor of his grandfather, Roy Spinto, an amateur musician. The first songs in the group's set list were actually Spinto compositions.
