This guitarist, who should not be confused with '60s surf music picker John Anderson, has performed and recorded as part of the ever-changing line-up that is Jesus Presley. The band, going all out for broke in terms of attracting attention with a band name, was the mid-'90s creative vision of The Reverend Tony Hughes, whose stagename by itself suggests theatrical concepts such as showmanship. The band features a large and by nature diverse group of players, delving into musical Influences such as Frank Zappa, Roxy Music, Stan Kenton, Raymond Scott, Don Was and Elvis Presley, if not Jesus Christ. Anderson worked with the group between 1995 and 2001, appearing on a pair of Jesus Presley releases.
