Gutemberg Guarabyra, one of the members of the important group Sá e Guarabyra, like Sá, he also had a solo career prior to the duo's formation in 1973. Moving to Rio de Janeiro in 1966, in the next year he participated in the inauguration of the Teatro Casa Grande, performing together with Sá and Sidney Miller. Returning to Bahia, he continued to appear in regional performances. Again in Rio, he won the national section of TV Globo's II FIC with "Margarida" in 1967. Becoming a producer, he worked for TV Tupi (Rio). Evinha won the Festival of Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais) in 1969 with his "Casaco Marrom" (with Renato Correia/Danilo Caymmi), a classic. Guarabyra also co-directed the VI FIC and was the artistic director for the Festival de Juiz de Fora. In the '90s he released the fiction book O Outro Lado do Mundo.
