Greg Boardman has emerged as one of the truly visionary composers in England. A producer and director of dramatic programs for a leading commercial television stations, Boardman has composed pieces for flute, clarinet, harp and string trio, chamber orchestra, string quartet, violin and marimba, oboe, harp and electronics, clarinet, violin and piano, and electronic tape. In 1997, his composition, "Ensemble 3," for three flutes and percussion, received a Young Composer's Award at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and was subsequently performed by the Scottish Flute Trio. Three years later, Boardman debuted his composition "Can of Delights" at the Festival of New Music. While completing his PhD at Keele University, Boardman has been working on a large-scale operatic work tentatively titled "An Unnatural Heir."
