Artist Biography by

This young performer is part of the New York Latin scene, sometimes spilling over into forms of Latin jazz, but he should not be confused with the George de Leon who founded the Phoenix House treatment center for drug addicts. That de Leon plays tenor saxophone in his spare time; this one is a sideman on guitar as well as traditional Latin American stringed instruments such as the timbal and coro. He performs with leaders such as Tony Rosario and Bush. The latter artist (whose real name is Francisco Buckley) is of no relation to either the wimpy '90s rock band or the unfortunate American presidential dynasty.
