Bay Area rock band Frankie's Dream was formed by singer/guitarist Frank Ellis after leaving the Mad Brothers. Ellis brought with him percussionist John Hasty from the Mad Brothers and added guitarist, singer, and songwriter Steve Keating and bassist and backup vocalist Randy McGowan. The group built up a following in northern California and, in 2004, issued its debut album, It Comes in Waves, on Fig Records. Soon after, singer and lead guitarist Norman Collins made the group a quintet.
