Lead singer Suzanne Palmer, keyboardist Ray Walsh, guitarist Aaron Allan, bassist Paul Caspar, and saxophonist Larry Bodner are the five members who made up the indie rock group Figures at Dawn. The band formed in Toronto around 1984. A year later, a self-titled album hit the market. The album received positive press, good airplay, and even brought in a few award nominations for members. A couple of the tunes from the album were made into videos and hit the music stations. Within a couple of years, though, there seemed to be nothing left of the band but memories.
Figures at Dawn got a shove into the spotlight again over a decade later when the hugely popular television series Beverly Hills 90210 used one of the songs, "In From the Cold," from the group's early album on an episode of the show. In 2000, some of the best songs from Figures at Dawn were gathered into a new album, titled In From the Cold: the Essential Collection. It was released on the Bullseye label.
