Latin singer from Rio Grande Valley Fidel Hernández was influenced by his father, who participated in a band called los Dos Gilbertos until 1972. Aware of his growing interest in music, Hernández' mother gave him his first guitar in 1990. Nevertheless and even after being strongly motivated by Latin music, Fidel Hernández decided to enroll in the criminal justice program at the University of Texas in 1991. While a student, Hernández joined a band called Realidad, adding knowledge and experience to his passion. In 1998, Polygram signed him up. That same year, his first album was produced by Joel Guzman. Hernández' second album was produced by Chuy Carrillo in the year 2000.
