Associated with the teen-oriented telenovela Morangos com Açúcar, Portuguese boy band D'ZRT debuted to chart-topping success in 2005; singer/actors Paulo Vintém, Angélico Vieira, Vítor Fonseca, and Edmundo Vieira had made their television debut the previous year on the second season of Morangos com Açúcar, cast respectively as the characters Topê, David, Zé Milho, and Ruca. It wasn't long before D'ZRT made their eponymous album debut in 2005. The commercial success of the album was remarkable, as it topped the Portuguese charts for 21 weeks. The follow-up albums Ao Vivo no Coliseus (2005), Original (2006), and Project (2009) also hit number one. Angélico was the first of the bandmembers to go solo, releasing his Top Five hit eponymous album debut in 2008.
