Artist Biography by

DeWolf made a couple of albums on Chess' folk subsidiary, Argo Folk, in 1963-1964: Folkswinger (1963) and High Tide (1964). DeWolf was a typical folksinger of the era, playing a traditional repertoire emphasizing breezy traveling songs and more melancholy ballads, with a bit of a pop-folk crossover feel. As such singers go, he was a bit above average, and his arrangements are interesting in that they sometimes used light drums, although it would be stretching it way too far to call it folk-rock or even pre-folk-rock.
