Danny King was a Birmingham-based vocalist whose first solo single on EMI-Columbia was "Tossin' And Turnin' b/w "Young Blood." In 1965, he emerged briefly as leader of a Birmingham group called Danny King's Mayfair Set in 1965. Future Move members Roy Wood and Trevor Burton played on King's second single, "Pretty Things," and Burton's guitar was present on the follow-up, "Amen (My Teenage Prayer)." King faded into the local Birmingham scene as bands like the Move emerged into the limelight during the mid-1960's.
