Originally a student of classical alto saxophone, Cleveland, OH-based Christopher Seink moved toward rock and guitar in the late '90s, becoming active in the Cleveland/Akron live scene with such bands as Rivethead, Liquid Gardens, and Quasispace. A desire to actually make records found Seink sending a collection of home demos to chamber pop maestro Eric Matthews who, much to Seink's surprise, suggested the two collaborate. That collaboration became known as Seinking Ships, a mostly instrumental project, heavily influenced by Matthews' and Seink's mutual love of film soundtracks and new wave bands. The song "We Will Drink Wine" (featuring guest vocals by Miki Berenyi of Lush) was leaked as a teaser in late 2008, followed shortly by a self-titled EP. Plans for a full-length were announced as well, with a release date sometime in 2009.
