Impelliteri is a new age guitarist influenced by a combination of rock and classical music styles. Utilizing a high-speed fretboard technique, he is distinguished by his ability to fit as many notes as possible into the shortest time-span. Moving to Los Angeles in 1986, he first recorded a self-financed mini-album of up-tempo instrumentals. The following year, he formed Impelliteri, which also featured vocalist Graham Bonnet (b. 12 December 1947, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England; ex-MSG and Rainbow), drummer Pat Torpey (ex-Ted Nugent), bass player Chuck Wright (ex-Quiet Riot) and keyboard player Phil Wolfe. Together they recorded the stunning hard rock album, Stand In Line. Although it provoked unjustified accusations of plagiarism from Rainbow devotees, the music was powerful, exciting and melodic. However, the band disintegrated shortly after the album’s release; Chuck Wright joined House Of Lords and Pat Torpey teamed up with Mr. Big. Impelliteri himself joined forces with ex-Dio keyboard player Claude Schnell and vocalist Mark Weisz in 1990.
