Originally starting out as a way to pass the time while attending Providence College, the members of Cat Loren never thought that their band would be taken to a touring level. With their roots starting in Providence, Rhode Island, the four-piece of Brian Clark (vocal/ guitar), Christopher Ford (bass/keyboards), Chris Herron (drums) and Matt Leonard (guitar) took the inspiration of 80's post-punk-new wave with their own method of pop. Two years following their relocation to Boston, Cat Loren first captured their nostalgic settings on the 1998 single "What's the New Direction." A year later, Cat Loren's self-titled EP followed through their own label of Sequencial Records.
