German rock band propelled by the powerful vocals of expatriate American Shaun Williamson (b. Atlanta, Georgia, USA), with Oliver Güttinger (guitar), Kai Portolano (guitar), Achim Gschwend (drums) and Frank Scharfft (bass) completing the line-up. Their fortunes were shaped by former Rolling Stones manager/producer Andrew Loog Oldham, and this fact alone was enough to ensure considerable early press interest. The band’s earnest recreation of a rocking Small Faces / Led Zeppelin sound also found favour with the critics, after their recording career was launched with the release of a self-titled debut album in 1995, on European label Mausoleum Records. Produced and engineered by Ed Miller (a veteran of work with the Black Crowes, 38 Special and Georgia Satellites), its potential was increased by the lack of linguistic barriers to international markets through Williamson’s trad rock English lyrics. Williamson later worked with the Sunnyland Blues Band and King Karma.
