Alternative Worship is primarily the work of Mike Knott, leader of LSU and the Aunt Bettys among other bands. Knott has never been one to gloss over life's difficulties, and his worship music reflects his trials and doubts as well as his faith. In 1994, he brought friends and fellow frontmen Terry Taylor and Gene Eugene (backed by current members of LSU and the Swirling Eddies) into the studio to record some of his songs that were more suited for a worship album than any of his numerous bands. Whether there will be future volumes of Alternative Worship is uncertain, but this project is memorable for it sincerity and excellent musicianship.
