As much as one would want to deny it, such a sample will strike a chord of immediate familiarity with anybody exposed to the cross-over acid house mega-tracks of the early '90s. This retooled update isn't all that much improved. Gonzo, rattling rhythms try to modernize everything, but it's really just as simplistic and repetitive as before. Like dancing to Menudo, you can only chant along with a particular brand of shame. Sufferers, feel free to sing along: "He died of an overdose...."
