AllMusic Review by

The Devil Mountain Jazz Band is an excellent Dixieland group that was originally patterned after the two-trumpet Yerba Buena Jazz Band led by Lu Watters in the 1940s. On their CD the band stretches from Watter's repertoire and a few Dixieland standards to obscurities from the 1920s including "I'm Gonna Meet My Sweetie Now," "Messin' Around" and the odd "Siam Blues." With the exception of a few indifferent vocals by bandmembers, this is a consistently excellent record containing fine solos and a memorable ensemble sound.
