Make no mistake about it: This is noise, but it's noise with a conceptual purpose. Wrong Application is a compilation of Tigerbeat6 artists who have transformed pictures, graphics, and anything else visual into sound, manipulating them to create extremely short but interesting minuets of digital noise. The process is interesting, but it's the concept and not the sounds that take center stage. Contributions and digital manipulation from Farmers Manual, Electric Company, and Blitter prove to be the most sonically interesting, but the album is a sonic assault of oscillations, glitches, and thick layers of static and can wear on even the most callous of ears over an extended listen. It's interesting for merit and an interesting look into an amazing process of turning digital art into sound, but it's most definitely listening for the hardcore fan only.
