This compilation album from Global Pacific offers a sampling of world fusion music. Unu Mondo and Barefoot begin the album with zingy two Latin pieces, yet later offer music colored by the Moroccan and Andean traditions. Bob Kindler creates a colorful stew of Indian instruments on the title piece from Tiger's Paw, while Steve Kindler's violin seems to sail the high seas in a track from his Across the Rainbow Sea album. The dynamic and syncopated "Elephant's Child" showcases Steve Kindler's lively and aggressive violin technique. The gypsy-like soul of Yugoslavia is captured by harpist Georgia Kelly and guitarist Dusan Bogdanovic from their A Journey Home album. Steve Kindler plays with Spanish fire with "Agua Caliente." The late Nigerian drummer Suru Ekeh ends the album with the title cut from his album Witch Doctor. The group and solo singing and the lyrical drumming are a joy to hear. Overall, it's an exciting mixture of modern treatments of world music.
