Lä-Ppisch play it safe on their second album, though their humor remains intact, along with their ability to keep the songs upbeat, catchy, and varied. Songs don't switch tempos or musical genres midway through, but the band reaches beyond ska to take in a bit of funk ("Bad Man?"), a waltz-time ballad ("Tears"), and rollicking mixture of Irish folk and Bob Dylan-like rap ("Room"). The album's hit single, "Rucksack (Jumbo Magumix)," also features a sunny, rhumba-style piano break in the chorus. The band is augmented by guest musicians from Japanese reggae dub masters Mute Beat, and the whole enterprise is one of familiar fun.
