On this mellow LP, Art Hodes plays solo piano renditions of ten of his favorite standards. Eight of the songs (including "Cherry," "I'm Comin' Virginia" and "Mood Indigo") are taken at relaxed tempos, while "Truckin'" and "I Know That You Know" are the only stomps. Hodes long had the ability to infuse every song with the blues, and that talent is very much in evidence on this obscure but worthy album.
