This is certainly an eccentric recording. Zsa Zsa Buschkov is the name of a quartet rather than an individual's name. The core unit consists of guitarist Christian Bader, cellist Ulrich Mails, bassist Andreas Advocado and drummer Tobias Proffen, often joined by guests. The music ranges from fusion to a blues ("Little Herbert"), a weird rhythmic number ("Alhup, Alhup") built around the sound of a baby and atmospheric mood pieces. Although the music is generally fine, half of the selections on this set consist of sound effects or talking; much of the release's contents could have been edited out without any great loss. Perhaps something has gotten lost in the translation but much of this release does not come across too well on record despite the strong musicianship of the players, and the results often border on the incoherent.
