AllMusic Review by

A nice collection of Cline in her (mostly) hard country mode. Highlights, apart from the familiar title song, include "A Church, A Courtroom and The Goodbye," a divorce song to end all divorce songs, driven by mournful pedal steel guitar and fiddle and featuring the immortal line "I hate the sight of that courtroom/where man made laws push god's laws aside" (sung by Cline with utter gravitas); the self-descriptive "Honky Tonk Merry-Go-Round"; "I Don't Wanna," an obvious attempt at crossover with a nice Everly Brothers guitar riff; and "Life's Railway to Heaven," an interesting extended metaphor with backup vocals obviously inspired by the Browns 1959 hit "The Three Bells."
