AllMusic Review by

Seldom has there been an artist as influential on as so many levels as Marcos Witt. Born into ministry as the child of missionaries in Durango, Mexico, Witt has been a part of the Evangelical movement in Latin America as long as he's been alive. With an education in both music and ministry, from both sides of the border, Witt is not only a recording artist, but a minister and a leader. In addition to the establishment of his own production house, CanZion Music, which has become among the most important in the industry, and the creation of the CanZion Institute to equip music ministers, Witt has sold of seven-million records in the course of his career. His 2004 release Vivencias offers a hint at the secret of his success. The amazing creativity and invention that permeates every composition on the album easily rivals the most cutting-edge secular music available, and coming out of a genre that typically can't match that secular music world for quality, it's quite an achievement. From the skillful use of synth to the string and horn arrangements that gracefully support and enrich the delicate, emotive material, the production is top drawer from start to finish. Witt himself proves a strong, inspiring vocalist. Vivencias leaves little doubt as to why Marcos Witt continues to be among the genre's most important figures.
