Usually there are at least one or two characteristics between the two bands of a split E release: same style of music, same hometown, each band covering each other's songs, and in some cases, the bands having the same name. As with this particular EP, it's the former of the two listed, as both the Vic Firecracker Trio and Orbit contain a heavier, distorted hint of punky metal that basically says "please sign us to Am Rep Records." Unfortunately, neither of these Boston natives strikes a chord, as Vic Firecracker Trio tries their best impression of Drive Like Jehu playing through wah-wah pedals. Then there's Orbit, who try to rock out in an MC5/Nashville Pussy sort of way, but the eight-track production and Thurston Moore-esque vocals prevent that from happening.
