The debut release from the Paradigm label features masterful sampling composer John Wall, electric noise artist Andrew Jacques, bizarre text collage project Crow, a dreamy exploration from Alquimia, and an incredible drone piece from improvising saxophonist John Grieve. As a showcase of the genre-defying underground artists working on the fringes of the U.K. experimental scene, this recording is a great portrait of a fascinating and diverse collective. The Morphogenesis offshoot Kymatick contributes an electronic improvisation, and group member Adam Bohman gives listeners an extract from his audio diary, which is a charming and wayward highlight of this cohesive collection.
