Drummer Gene Krupa's most famous band was his 1941-1942 orchestra which featured singer Anita O'Day and trumpeter Roy Eldridge. This definitive CD has 20 selections from that particular unit plus four tunes from Krupa in 1949 when Eldridge had briefly rejoined his band. Virtually all of Krupa's biggest hits are here, including "Green Eyes," "Let Me Off Uptown," "After You've Gone," "Rockin' Chair," "Thanks for the Boogie Ride," and "That Drummer's Band." This was a classic band, so this is a highly recommended disc for all swing collections.
