With the album cover featuring a pierced, spiky haired punk rocker on a pogo stick, it's very easy to guess what to expect from New Jersey's Blanks '77: lots of drunken Oi! fueled anthems that has a middle-finger response to everything within society's boundaries. Up the System re-establishes the faith that there are still bands out there that can pull off the sound of old school 1977 Brit punk -- a rarity in the world of over-polished pop-punk. And the band's pogoed-out version of Buddy Holly's "Rave On" is a wonderful thing.
