Ironically, Unmixed features a plethora of remixes. The emphasis here is dance music, and though none of the producers are particularly well-known, many of the remixes are recognized. In particular, remixes by Danny Tenaglia, Bob Sinclair, Eddie Amador, Club 69, and Jan Driver should interest many, and if these big-money names don't, the quality of their music no doubt will -- these are top-notch tracks for the most part, engineered specifically for the dancefloor. Each of the tracks plays out to relatively epic proportions, each of the two discs featuring only nine songs. Not particularly a listener-friendly album, Unmixed functions best as an introduction to the DJ side of dance music -- you get a chance to hear the tracks as a DJ would rather than how you normally would if you were on the dancefloor.
