M3, or Miller 3 as the title might infer, is the project of Roger Miller, Laurence Miller, and Benjamin Miller. The project M3 has produced a strange and challenging recording with Unearthing. The whole of this recording was improvised collectively and committed to tape for release. The recording consists of relatively typical instrumentation, but what their sessions yielded was hardly a typical release. Bass guitar and triggered drums play quite a large role with these works. There's some guitar work, but it's quite abstract and is usually relegated to feedback or a strange series of bleeps and blurps. This is a very strange and even more experimental recording. From the perspective of an experimental recording, this is quite interesting, but from the perspective of the average listener or music fan, it's quite abstract, dissonant, and hard on the ears. All in all, this is a cohesive recording, and one that certainly plays out well, albeit brashly.
