This album is a collaboration with Lauri Paisley and fellow New Jerseyite D. Andrew Rath (whom Lauri thanks for "uncatagorizable... immoral support" on her Fire of Dreams album). This set is less acoustic than Fire of Dreams, but features more electronic percussion, and at times it flat out rocks. Each piece flows beautifully into the next, keeping the listener interested and sometimes catching him/her off guard. It switches from somber space drones to pounding, percussive sequences with exhilaratingly little warning. The opening medley, "Before the Light/Truth or Consequences" does just that. The rest of the album keeps up this sort of pace, proving conclusively that good programming (in this sense, determining which song goes where) makes an album a work of art rather than a collection of tunes. These two definitely make beautiful music together.
