AllMusic Review by

Treasure of Love is a budget collection containing mostly non-hit album tracks and B-sides from Claude Gray's early '60s period on Mercury Records, when he recorded the biggest hits of his career. The Roger Miller-penned "My Ears Should Burn (When Fools Are Talked About)" was Gray's highest-charting single and is the sole hit on Treasure of Love. Hank Thompson's "Blackboard of My Heart" and "Your Old Love Letters" typify the shuffling, eight-to-the-bar country music to be found here, but there are surprises, too -- like the primitive fuzz-bass on "Stone Heart." Gray had a long career and a number of big hits that are seldom heard today, which is enough to recommend Treasure of Love to serious followers of country music.
