This 13-cut CD begins with three plugged selections and then settles in to a longer unplugged section. On the band numbers, it's clear that Wolf loves cranked up and low-down singer/songwritin'. "Just One Dance" has the sound of an instant hit and "Captivated" has a sound that wouldn't sound out of place on a Meatloaf album; and this is meant as a compliment. For whatever reason, the remainder of the disc is acoustic, but the songwriting remains on a high level. He varies his tunes with fresh musical turns, while singing with the commitment of Bob Seeger -- that's meant as a compliment as well. This is a fine self-produced, commercially oriented folk and country album that serves as a good introduction to a new writer.
